The Adelaide Pre-vocational Psychiatry Program Training (TAPPP)
TAPPP offers a 12 month pre-vocational JMO Training program, the only type of its kind within Australia.
We promote and encourage participants who have an interest in Psychiatry as a future career, but also those who are considering specialities such as Emergency Medicine and General Practice where mental health issues are highly represented.
The program is accredited for GP trainees as a general hospital rotation (for 6 month rotations) or as an "Extended Skills" post for 12 month placements.
Positions are available in various locations throughout Adelaide, and you will obtain significant Psychiatry experience in inpatient and community settings whilst accessing a structured weekly educational program and high level of supervision and support.
If you would like a JMOs perspective of the program, Dr Michael Fyfe shares his TAPPP experience below.
